DAIANA KONOMANYI CONCLUDES PEACE AND RECONCILIATION TOUR IN KONO

In a significant move to strengthen peace and reconciliation within the main opposition All People’s’ Congress (APC) Party, the former Minister of Lands and Country Planning, Finda Diana Konomanyi cocluded a peace and reconciliation tour of the APC party in Kono district. On Saturday, 28^th June 2025 the peace and reconciliation ceremony hosted at the APC party head office in Gbense Chiefdom, Koidu City, Kono District, Eastern Region of Sierra Leone, brought together key party stakeholders, regional, district and national executive members of the main opposition APC, supporters, Northern alliance, youths, women’s groups the media among others. In her statement, Madam Finda Diana Konomanyi disclosed that the purpose of her visit was to continue her nationwide peace and reconciliation tour within their political party. Adding that Kono been the first district they started the peace and reconciliation dialogue with party members. “The purpose of this meeting is not only to address our current challenges but to come together as a team, setting aside our grievances to focus on the development of the APC and fostering unity and progress within the party ahead of the 2028 general elections in the country,” Konomanyi disclosed. She clarified that her visit was not intended to endorse any individual as the party flag bearer for the upcoming national elections. “When the right time comes for such an endorsement, I will return to my people here in Kono District,” she said.

Madam Diana Konomanyi made a public apology to her party members for not taken the back seat during the past 2023 general elections which cannot disconnected with her grieve against the party. She reaffirmed her commitment to transparent leadership and the development of the country. Konomanyi pointed out that it is not in the constitution of the country that politic party should stay in governance for any two terms. “If the party work hard for the interest of the people and will continue to say in governance. So let for forget about that idea it is two terms for each political party to in governance and it is high time we started united and focus on the unity among us and development of the country” she said. She vowed that they would engage with Dr. Samura Kamara   and others to amalgamate the party and   foster peace among them for the victory ahead. She urged all party supporters to work cohesively with their structures across various constituencies, chiefdoms sections and zones. She underscored the power of united efforts in advancing the goals of the party and the progress of the country. The Eastern Region Chairman Marya Kai Kai stressed that the APC party needs to galvanize the grassroots who are the nucleus of the party. He pointed out that peace within the party is the bedrock towards the development any organization. Kai Kai thanked Madam Finda Konomanyi for her bold step taken ensuring peace and sanity to prevail within the party members in the district.

Other prominent party members including the Deputy Mayor of Port Loko, the National Youth President, District chairladies across the country all re-echoed the importance of peace and unity within the party and they called for total collaborative efforts in moving the party forward. Hundreds of suppers of the main opposition All People Congress party came out on the streets of Koidu city, Kono district warmly welcomed the former regional chairperson   eastern Madam Finda Diana Konomanyi and her team and vowed to bridge peace within themselves for the development of the party and the district.
