VP JULDEH JALLOH ADVOCATES FOR CHILD NUTRITION AT GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE

Hamburg, Germany-1 July 2026- Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has joined global leaders at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in discussions focused on advancing child nutrition, with particular emphasis on the critical first 1,000 days of life. He described the engagement as an important platform for strengthening global cooperation on Sustainable Development.
“The Conference provided an invaluable platform to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen partnerships for a more sustainable future,” he said. Jalloh also drew attention to the vulnerabilities of small economies amid global shocks, stressing the need for stronger international support systems. “I highlighted the unique vulnerabilities of small economies like Sierra Leone and the urgent need for more flexible financing to help countries navigate global shocks,” he noted. Reflecting on the two-day conference, the Vice President said he was encouraged by the level of collaboration and shared commitment among participants.
“I leave Hamburg encouraged by the shared commitment to practical solutions and stronger international cooperation,” he said. The Hamburg Sustainability Conference brings together global leaders to promote partnerships and accelerate progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. VP Juldeh Jalloh reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s position on the global stage, stating: “Sierra Leone will continue to be an active voice in shaping a more resilient and equitable future for countries in the Global South.”
