MoH PARTNERS WITH MOCTI TO ENHANCE TECHNOLOGY IN HEALTHCARE

The Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Hinga Demby and his senior management team hosted a high-profile delegation from the Ministry of Communication Technology and Innovation (MoCTI) led by the Minister, Madam Salima Bah to enhance technology in healthcare on Thursday, 10^th July 2025. The partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation aims to leverage technology to improve healthcare services in Sierra Leone. The deliberations highlighted several endless possibilities for a collaboration on how to leverage technology in healthcare. The Minister of Health is determined to urgently integrate digital solutions in healthcare, particularly in transparent recruitment, retention, efficiency of staff and performance monitoring in service delivery.

Minister Salima assured Dr. Demby of MoCTI’s strong desire to support the health sector in integrating easy-to-use and reliable technology to improve health service provision. This crucial meeting comes in the wake of the Government’s announcement to recruit 3000 health workers across all cadres. The Health Minister desires to make this recruitment as transparent as possible, and the exciting possibility of using technology to make this happen cannot be timelier.
