POLICE RECEIVES ESSENTIAL CONSIGNMENT OF DRUGS IN KONO

In a significant effort to improve the well-being of Sierra Leone Police and  achieve sustainable healthcare services, the Motema Police Divional Headquarters in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono district, Eastern Region of Sierra Leone has on Saturday 13th June 2026, officially received high quantity of consignment of assorted essential drugs for its health centre from the Head of the Sierra Leone Police Medical Services. Receiving the said drugs on behalf of Motema Police Divisional Headquarters, the Local Unit Commander, CSP Alimamy G Sesay, expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the astute leadership of Sierra Leone Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Executive Management Board (EMB), and the Medical Services Department for what he described as a laudable and timely intervention. He said that the consignment of assorted essential drugs for its Health Centre is a move aimed at improving the welfare and healthcare services available to police personnel and their families.

He noted that the donation demonstrates the Force's commitment to prioritising the health and well-being of its personnel. CSP Sesay assured the management of the Sierra Leone Police that the donated drugs would be properly managed and utilised for their intended purpose. He emphasised that access to essential medicines is critical in maintaining a healthy workforce capable of effectively delivering security services to the public. He further urges other health service providers, partners, and well-wishers to emulate the gesture by supporting the Division's Health Centre with medical supplies and equipment. "Collective support from stakeholders will contribute significantly to enhancing healthcare delivery within the Division” CSP Alimamy G Sesay.

 According to Thompson Peter Ndapi, the Media and Community Relations Officer of Motema Police Divisional Headquarters, donated drugs which were expected to serve as a major boost to the operations of the Health Centre and improve the health condition of police personnel, adding that the initiative is anticipated to reduce challenges associated with accessing basic medications while strengthening the overall welfare system of the Sierra Leone Police in Motema Division.
