DISTRICT MAMMY QUEEN CALLS FOR UNITY & STRONGER COLLABORATION AMONG CULTURAL GROUPS IN PUJEHUN

The District Mammy Queen of Pujehun District, Madam Mamawa KaiKai, has called on all cultural groups across the district to embrace unity, peace, and stronger collaboration to promote cultural development and social cohesion within the district. Madam Mamawa KaiKai made the appeal during a stakeholders’ engagement that brought together representatives of various cultural groups in Pujehun District.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among cultural organizations and creating a common platform through which cultural activities can be coordinated and promoted for the benefit of the district. Giving an overview of the engagement, Madam Mamawa KaiKai emphasized the importance of unity among cultural groups, noting that culture remains a vital component of community identity, social harmony, and development. She explained that the objective of the gathering was to encourage all cultural organizations to come together under one umbrella body while maintaining their individual identities and unique cultural traditions.

According to her, bringing all cultural groups together will create a stronger and more organized cultural sector capable of addressing common challenges, promoting peace, and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Pujehun District.

Madam Mamawa KaiKai stressed that although each group would continue to operate under its respective name and preserve its distinct customs and traditions, working collectively would provide a stronger voice and better opportunities for cultural advancement.

She further noted that unity among cultural groups would foster mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation among members of different communities across the district. She encouraged cultural leaders and members to avoid divisions and instead focus on building lasting partnerships that would contribute to the district’s growth and development.

Meanwhile, cultural advocate Abdul Jasil Sillah also addressed participants during the engagement, where he outlined plans for a forthcoming two-day workshop training on culture scheduled to take place from June 11 to June 12, 2026.

Speaking on the importance of the training, Abdul Jasil Sillah explained that the workshop is intended to enhance participants’ understanding of cultural preservation, leadership, community engagement, and the role of culture in national development. He said the training would bring together representatives from different cultural groups to share experiences, learn best practices, and discuss strategies for promoting cultural activities within their respective communities.

Participants at the engagement welcomed the initiative and commended the District Mammy Queen for her leadership and commitment to promoting unity among cultural groups. Many expressed hope that the proposed collaboration and upcoming workshop would mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation, peace, and cultural development across Pujehun District.
